       (24th to 27th October) 2008

This year is the centenary of the opening of the North Island Main Trunk Railway.  One of the main events, to celebrate this occasion a 4 day rail festival based at Feilding, Manawatu, New Zealand, over Labour Weekend 2008.  

 Friday 24th October

Paekakariki to Feilding (one way)
Departs 12.50pm arrives 4.00pm Expected loco Ja1271 
Connects at Palmerston North with Gorge excursion and southbound Overlander.Adults $50, Child $30

Feilding to Woodville (return)

‘Pub Charity ‘Feilding to Wanganui (return) - Dinner Train
Departs 4.20pm, back at 11.35pm. Expected loco JA1275. Includes buffet dinner at  Wanganui or train trip only option
Connects with train from Paekakariki.
Adults $110 (w’ meal) or $60 train only

Saturday 25th October

Main Trunk Double Header (return)
Departs 7.15am Feilding (6.15am PN) arrives back at 10.00pm (10.35pm PN) Expected Locos - Ka942 and Ja1271  All seats $155
Shuttle bus from PN Main St Terminal 5.45am to PN Station

Silver Fern Railcar from Auckland to Feilding & Palmerston North (one way) Departs The Strand 9am arrives Palmerston North 7pm

Silver Fern – Double header Steam Combo (one way)
Auckland to Feilding & Palmerston North  departs 9am arrives Feilding 10pm, PN 10.35pm Silver Fern from Auckland to Taumarunui. Then transfer to steam train to Feilding. Includes double header steam up the spiral!  Adults $175  Child $140

Double header Steam – Silver Fern Combo (one way)
Departs 7.15am Feilding, back at 6.40pm, Palmerston North 7pmDouble header steam train from Feilding to Taumararunui. Then transfer to Silver Fern Railcar to Feilding or Palmerston North.
