Pahiatua Railcar Society Inc are currently preparing RM31 a standard class railcar for use on the mainline. RM 31 called Tokomaru was used on the Wellington to New Plymouth for 33 years until 1972. The remaining four Standard railwares were used in the Hawkes Bay mainly between Napier and Gisborne, until 1955. All six railcars then operated between Wellington and New Plymouth until 1972.
